1 c. butter
1 c. milk
1 c. sour cream
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. sugar
1 tsp. baking soda
Pinch of salt
Flour

Icing:
4-5 c. white sugar
4 c. milk
1 c. butter
1 tsp. vanilla
Red and green food colouring

Cake:
Mix all wet ingredients then add all dry ingredients except flour. To this, add enough flour to roll. Put dough in fridge for 2 hours to stiffen. Roll into separate layers, large enough to cover the back of pie plates. Bake at 350ºF (175ºC) until lightly browned.

Icing:
Boil sugar, milk, and butter until thick and honey-coloured; add vanilla. Cool and separate into 1/3 and 2/3 portions. Put green food colouring in the 1/3 portion and red food colouring into the 2/3 portion. Put icing between cake layers in alternating colours, then put remaining red icing on sides and top of cake.
