2½ lb head red cabbage shredded
¾ c. boiling water
3 large cooking apples (Granny Smith) pared and sliced
3 tbsp. melted butter
¼ c. vinegar
1½ tsp. flour
¼ c. brown sugar,packed
2 tsp salt
dash pepper

Directions:
Directions:
Put shredded cabbage in kettle and add hot water. Cook, covered, for 10 minutes. Add apples, cover and cook 10 minutes or until tender. Combine butter, vinegar, flour, sugar, salt and pepper and add to the cabbage/apple mixture. Stir to coat.
