Ingredients: Savory beef with green beans, sweet basil and hot chili pepper is absolutely delicious!
2 cups water 1/2 lb green beans (may cut to an inch in length or leave whole) 1/2 lb beef sirloin, sliced thin (good with leftover steak too) 3 cloves garlic, minced 1 T Fish Sauce Dash black pepper 1/2 T fresh lime juice 1 yellow onion, sliced 1 T Soy Sauce (2 packets = 1 T) 1/2 T sugar 2 T vegetable oil 2-4 chopped jalapenos (remove the seeds or keep a few. The seeds and flesh will increase the "heat" to the dish) to your taste 1/2 cup fresh Thai Sweet Basil leaves, chopped (toss in right before serving)

Directions:Bring 2 cups water to a boil. Add green beans and stir and cook for 2 minutes. Drain and set aside. In a small bowl combine beef, garlic, Fish Sauce, black pepper and lime juice. Mix well and set aside. In another bowl, combine soy sauce, sugar and hot chili peppers. Set aside. Pre-heat a skillet or wok on high. When hot, add oil & yellow onion. Stir Fry until tender then add the green beans (b/c beef will not take as long.) Season with soy sauce, sugar and peppers. Remove from heat and add Sweet Basil leaves. Serve over rice. |
