Cake:
2 sticks butter
1/2 c shortening
3 c sugar
3 c all-purpose flour
1 t vanilla
1/2 t baking powder
1/4 c milk
1/4 c sour cream
1/2 c cocoa
5 eggs
1/2 t salt

Optional Frosting:
1 c confectioners sugar
1 T cocoa
2 T milk
1 T butter

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 325. Cream butter, shortening, and sugar. Add eggs one at a time. Beat for 1 minute after each egg. Sift dry ingredients 3 times. Add alternately with flour, milk and sour cream. Add vanilla and beat 1 minute. Pour into greased and floured tube pan. Bake at 325 for 1 hour. Turn oven down to 300 and bake for 15 minutes longer. Cool 1 hour in pan before removing.

Frosting: Combine all ingredients and bring to a boil. Boil 1 minute. Beat until creamy and frosting begins to thicken. Pour over cake and sprinkle with nuts.
