2 cups boiling water
2 cups All Bran cereal
3 cups sugar
1 heaping cup Crisco
4 eggs beaten
1 teaspoon salt
5 teaspoons baking soda
5 cups flour
1 quart buttermilk
4 cups Bran Buds cereal

Raisins or dates may be added at time of baking

Preheat oven to 400º
Soak water and All Bran cereal together
Cream sugar, Crisco, eggs together
Stir in bran and water mixture
Add salt, soda and flour
Blend in butter and Bran Buds
Add raisins or dates if desired
Bake in muffin tins for 15 minutes
Only bake as many as you want to eat
Store the rest of the batter in a covered container
in the refrigerator up to 6 weeks.
Bake as needed.
Makes 6 dozen muffins
May use Butter in place of Crisco
