1½ lbs. stew beef
1½ lbs. pork, cubed
2 cups onion, chopped
3 green peppers, chopped
1 6 oz. can tomato paste
½ cup brown sugar, packed
¼ cup cider vinegar
¼ cup chili powder
2 tsp. salt
2 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
1 tsp. dry mustard
12 6-inch hard rolls
lettuce
chopped tomatoes

Directions:
In slow cooker, combine beef, pork, onions, peppers, tomato paste, sugar, vinegar, chili powder, salt and Worcestershire. Cover; cook on high 8 hours. With wire whisk, stir mixture until meat is shredded. To serve, line rolls with lettuce leaves; fill with meat mixture; sprinkle with tomato.

To cook on stove: Use 6-quart Dutch oven, prepare as above, but add 1 cup water. Simmer 3 hours.
