One-half cup butter
1 cup sugar
1 cup all purpose flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1 cup milk
1 tsp. vanilla
1 large can of fruit, cut into bite size pieces or 1 can of pie filling
Pinch of salt

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 375º.
Lightly spray a square baking dish with cooking spray. Melt butter in the baking dish allowing it to grease the sides and bottom of the dish.
Mix sugar, flour, baking powder, and salt. Add milk and vanilla to form a batter. Pour batter into buttered baking dish. Spread fruit or pie filling over the batter (If using fruit, may want to cut it into bite size pieces and drain. Can use the liquid with milk to make the 1 cup of milk). Bake for approximately 45 minutes or until golden brown. Crust will be the batter rising above the fruit or pie filling. Serve warm topped with Cool Whip or ice cream.

Quick and easy dessert to make. I typically use pie filling (cherry or apple). For the apple, I put cinnamon on top before baking.
