1 1/2 c. flour
1/2 c. unsweetened cocoa
1/4 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. baking soda
1/2 c. butter or margarine
1 c. sugar
1 egg
1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
1 - 10 oz. maraschino cherries
1 - 6 oz. semi-sweet chocolate pieces
1/2 c. Eagle Brand milk

Directions:
Directions:
Stir flour, cocoa, baking powder, soda and salt. Beat butter and sugar on low till fluffy. Add egg and vanilla-beat well. Gradually add flour mixture and beat well.

Shape dough into 1 inch balls. Place on cookie sheet. Press down center of dough with thumb. Drain cherries and reserve juice. Place a cherry in center of each cookie. Spoon frosting over each cherry.

Frosting: Make in double boiler. Combine chocolate pieces and Eagle Brand milk and heat until melted. Stir in 3 tsp. cherry juice. You may thin out frosting with more cherry juice. Bake @ 350º for 10 minutes.
