2 cups flour
2 tablespoons sugar
½ teaspoon salt
4 teaspoons baking powder
3 tablespoons of shortening
1 egg
½ cup milk

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350º
Sift all dry ingredients. Cut in the shortening. Add the beaten egg to milk and add to the dry ingredients. This will make a soft dough. Smooth out lightly in greased pan and bake for 20-25 minutes.

To serve cut into squares and then slice each square in half. Add a mixture of strawberries to bottom layer and then return the top layer of short bread. Finish with a spoonful of whip topping.

As I turn the pages of Grandma Beulah's recipe book, I find this recipe for Strawberry Shortbread. At the top of the page it says "Mom's". So I have think that it was a family favorite that Great Grandma Frobish had created and used for many years.
