2 1/4 cups all purpose flour
2 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
2 teaspoons sugar
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup cold butter, cubed
1 cup (4 ounces) shredded cheddar cheese
3 Tablespoons minced chives
1 cup buttermilk


Directions:

Preheat oven to 425*. In a large bowl, whisk first 5 ingredients together until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Stir in cheese and chives. Add buttermilk, stir until just moistened. Turn onto lightly floured surface, knead gently 8-10 times. Put or roll dough to 3/4 inch thickness. Cut with a floured 2 1/2 inch biscuit cutter. Place 2 inches apart on a greased baking sheet. Bake 8-10 minutes.
