1 peck (8 quarts) green tomatoes
5 lb white sugar
2 tsp salt
2 lb seeded raisins
1 c cider vinegar
2 lemons, juice and grated rind
2 tsp cloves
2 tsp allspice
2 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp nutmeg

Directions:
Directions:
Chop tomatoes fine in meat grinder, drain, heat, add sugar stirring constantly until sugar is dissolved. Add salt raisins and vinegar, also juice and rind of lemons, bring to boil and lower heat. Add spices, simmer one hour, until thickened and reduced in quantity. Put in sterilized sealers. Makes enough for 6 pies. When making pies, add one tbsp. of butter to filling.
