1 pkg crushed chocolate wafers
1/2 cup melted butter
1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa
3 tbsp.s butter
2/3 cup sugar
1/3 cup whipping cream
2 tsps vanilla extract
1 carton softened coffee ice cream

Directions:
Directions:
Mix crushed wafers and butter. Put in springform pan and bake 375° for 10 minutes. Cool completely. Add ice cream.
In a saucepan over medium heat mix cocoa, sugar, butter, whipping cream. Heat until smooth. Remove and add vanilla. Cool and pour over ice cream.
Roast sliced almonds and sprinkle on top. Freeze

A family favorite since we first made this dessert in Newfoundland. Mary makes it every Christmas for her family and I make it for Jocelyn's birthday most years.
