3 cups sugar
2 oz powdered instant coffee - by volume, not weight
1 cup water

Mix and bring to a boil and let cool

Add a 1/5 bottle of cheap brandy
and a half of 1/5 bottle of vodka
Place one vanilla bean (split) into a half gallon jug

Pour contents into a jug and let stand for about 4 weeks (shake daily)
Remove bean and strain

This is my dads recipe, and he wrote these words about it.....

"Damn good in coffee, on ice or over ice cream...
May have a problem finding the vanilla bean. Usually one or two in a bottle, and costs about $1.25!"
