Ingredients:
Ingredients:
4 cups - tart apples (we use Cortland) (or other fruits as below)
¾ cup – all-purpose flour
¾ cup – light brown sugar
6 tbsp. – butter (softened)
¾ tsp. – cinnamon (may be more or less depending on quality)

Directions:
Directions:
Pare and core the apples. Slice the apples across the bottom of an 8x11-inch glass pan. Mix the other ingredients together. Work the mixture with a pastry blender or fingers. The mixture must be lightly worked so it does not become oily. Spread these crumbly ingredients over the fruit. Bake at 375° for about 30 minutes.

Notes:
The butter should be soft but not melted.
Can be served warm or cold. The addition of a scoop of vanilla ice cream is always a hit.
Can be made with the same amount of peaches, slightly sugared rhubarb, or pitted cherries.
Can also use frozen fruits.

Yields about 8 servings
