Ingredients:
Ingredients:
2 Tbsp olive oil
1 cup finely chopped onion
1 Tbsp finely chopped garlic
1/4 cup whiskey
3 Tbsp tomato paste
1/2 cup maple syrup
1 Tbsp cider vinegar
1 Tbsp Dijon mustard
1 tsp paprika
1 tsp Tabasco sauce
1/2 tsp pepper

Directions:
Directions:
In sauce pan, saute onion in olive oil over medium heat until translucent, 7 to 10 minutes. Add garlic stirring constantly for 1 minute. Remove pan from heat and slowly pour in whiskey (beware of flame up). Return pan to heat and cook until the whiskey has almost completely evaporated, about 2 minutes. Stir in tomato paste until it is completely incorporated then add the rest of the ingredients and simmer 3 to 4 minutes to meld the flavors and slightly thicken. Remove from heat and set aside for immediate use or store in the refrigerator. Serve sauce with grilled steaks or any other meat you want to kick up a notch.
Note: 1) For a honey flavored BBQ sauce substitute 1/2 cup of honey for the maple syrup.
