2 large bananas
1 cup sugar
4 tablespoons shortening
2 eggs
2 1/2 cups sifted flour
1 level teaspoon soda
1 level teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
2/3 cup mik
1/2 cup chopped nuts

Directions:
Directions:
Mash bananas and set aside.

Cream the sugar and shortening. Add eggs, bananas, flour, soda, baking powder, salt, vanilla and nuts in that order using milk as needed.

Grease and flour 2 loaf pans. Fill half full.

Bake 350º for 45 minutes or until toothpick comes out clean.

Let bread stand in pans for 5 minutes after removing from oven.

Place loaves on rack to cool.
