1 cup butter, softened
6- 8 cup icing sugar
½ cup milk
2 tsp vanila

Directions:
Directions:
Place butter in a large mixing bowl. add 4 cups of the sugar and then the milk and vanilla. On the n=medium speed of an electric or stand mixer beat until smooth and creamy, about 3-5 minutes. Gradually add the remaining sugar1 cup at a time, beating well iafter each addition (about 2 minutes) , unit the icing is thiv=ck enough to be of good spreading consistency. You may not need all the sugar. If desired you can add a few drops of food colouring and mix thoroughly.
*Note:
If you are icing a 3 layer cake or 3 dozen cupcakes use the following proportions:
1 ½ c butter
8-10 c icing sugar
¾ c milk
1 Tbsp Vanilla
