1 Qt. shucked oysters in their liquor
2 C coarsely crushed saltine crackers
1 C dry bread crumbs
3/4 C melted butter
1 C cream
1 tsp. nutmeg
1 tsp each salt and pepper
Celery salt- optional

Directions:
Directions:
preheat oven to 350

1) Pick oysters free of any shells.
2) In a deep buttered casserole, mix together crackers, bread crumbs, and melted butter.
3) Place layer of mixture in bottom of casserole.
4) Cover it with half of oysters.
5) Season cream with nutmeg, salt and pepper.
6) Pour half of mixture over oysters.
7) On next layer , use oysters, 3/4 of remaining crumb mixture and cover with seasoned cream.
8) Top with remaining crumbs and bake for 20-25 minutes or until lightly brown.
