1/2 cup butter or margarine (softened)
1/2 cup shortening
1 1/2 cups sugar
2 eggs
2 3/4 cups flour
1 teaspoon cream of tartar
1 teaspoon soda
1/4 teaspoon salt

2 tablespoons sugar
2 tablespoons cinnamon

Directions:
Directions:
Heat oven to 400 degrees. Mix thoroughly butter, shortening, 1 1/2 cups sugar and the eggs. Blend in the flour, cream of tartar, soda and salt.
Shape dough by rounded teaspoonfuls into balls.

Mix 2 tablespoons sugar and 2 tablespoons cinnamon together in a small bowl. Rolls the balls in this mixture. Place dough balls 2 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheet.
Bake 8 to 10 minutes or until set. Immediately remove from cookie sheet and allow to cool.
