2-1/2 cups flour
1 tsp vanilla
2 cups sugar, white
1 tsp salt
2 cups applesauce
1 tsp cinnamon
1/2 cup solid crisco
1/2 tsp gr. allspice
1/2 cup water
1/2 tsp ground cloves
2 eggs beaten
1/2 tsp nutmeg
1-1/2 tsp baking powder
1 cup chopped wanuts
1-1/2 tsp baking soda
1 cup raisins

FROSTING:
3/4 cup butter 5 cups sifted powdered sugar, 1/4 cup milk, 2 tsp vanilla


Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees, grease and flour two 9" round pan.
combine all ingredients except walnuts and raisins.
Beat well.
Stir in walnuts and raisins.
Bake 30-35 minutes. test with toothpick.

Frosting

Beat butter 3-4 minutes until light and fluffy.
Add remaining ingredients.
Beat until smooth.
