1 lb. butter room temp.
12 Tbs. powdered sugar (¾ cup)
5 cups flour
2 cups pecans chopped into small pieces
2 Tbs. vanilla

1 cup of powdered sugar for dusting the cookies

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 275º
In a large bowl mix all of the ingredients with your hands. (except for the extra 1 cup of powdered sugar)
Shape into crescents and place on an ungreased cookie sheet.
Bake 45 minutes.
Let the cookies cool completely on a wire rack.
Add the 1 cup of powdered sugar to a paper lunch bag and shake 4 cookies at a time.

Mom made these wonderful cookies every Christmas. They take a while to make, but they are well worth the time! It was funny, but Mom would always measure out the 12 Tbs. of powdered sugar. I asked her one time why she didn't just measure the 12 Tbs. into a measuring cup...that would be so much faster, but she said that the recipe called for 12 Tbs. and that was how she was going to do it. I do it that way too...I love my Mom!
