1/2 cup shortening
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup white sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp vanilla
11/2 cups sliced peaches with juice
2 cups flour
1 tsp salt
1 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp cinnamon
3 tsp baking powder
1/2 cup chopped walnuts or pecans

Sauce:
1/4 cup real butter
3/4 cup white sugar
2 tsp vanilla or rum flavoring
1 cup water
2 tsp corn starch

Cake:
Cream shortening, sugars, eggs and vanilla until smooth. Mix flour, salt, baking soda, cinnamon and baking powder together then add to creamed mixture until blended well. Stir in peaches with juice and nuts. Bake in 350 degree oven 40 to 45 minutes or until toothpick in center comes out clean.
When cool frost with cream cheese frosting or sauce.

Sauce:
In large sauce pan on stove mix all ingredients together and bring to a boil. Cook until slightly thickened. Serve warm over cake when served.
