Dad's Rice Pudding Recipe

1 cup long grain rice
1 cup sugar, I use a heaping tablespoon
8 cups milk Plus 1 cup set aside
Pinch of salt
1 large egg
1 cup raisins
1 tsp. Vanilla
Nutmeg

Directions:
Directions:
Put 8 cups of milk in pot along with rice and sugar. Bring to boil, lower cook until rice is done stirring on occasion. Beat remaining milk and egg together. Pour into rice and stir. Bring to boil again then turn off, add vanilla and raisins. Stir well every now and then. Pour in bowl. Refrigerate when it’s cool. Sprinkle with nutmeg.
