1 cup butter
1 1/2 cups sugar
3 eggs
3 cups flour
3 teaspoons baking powder
1 cup milk

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350º. Grease and flour two 9" round cake pans. Mix flour and baking powder and set aside. Cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs, one at a time. Add 1/3 of the flour and mix. Alternately add the milk and flour, ending with the flour. Pour into pans and bake about 25 to 30 minutes. Cool about 10 minutes, remove from pan. Frost.

1/2 cup butter
1 cup brown sugar, firmly packed
1/4 cup milk
1 3/4 to 2 cups sifted 4x sugar (confectioners sugar)

Melt butter; add brown sugar and cook over low heat 2 minutes, stirring constantly. Add milk, and continue stirring until mixture comes to a boil. Remove from heat and cool. Add 4x sugar until right consistency to spread.
