1 small bag split peas
8 cups water
1 cup celery - diced
1 cup onion - diced
1 1/2 cup carrots - chopped or shredded
1/4 tsp thyme
1 bay leaf
1/3 tsp paprika
Smoked Ham Hock - optional
1 can chicken broth
Evaporated milk

Directions:
Directions:
Mix all ingredients - except the chicken broth and evaporated milk. Cook until peas are soft. Add chicken broth and blend with emulsion blender until smooth. Add small amount of evaporated milk to taste.
