4 links of sausage of choice

2-5 cloves garlic

2-3 tomatoes (or stick with the canned tomatoes) chopped

1/2 - 1 (28 ounce) can whole peeled tomatoes (entire can if no fresh tomatoes used)

1/2 cup chopped fresh basil

salt and pepper to taste

1/2 cup vodka

couple bunches of spinach (if you want)

1 pound penne pasta

1 1/2 cups half and half

Parmesan cheese to sprinkle on top

In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the sausage. Crumble it Set aside when done

Cook garlic in drippings about 2 minutes.

Stir in tomatoes, breaking up a bit

Stir in basil, salt, pepper and red pepper flakes if you want...simmer 15 minutes.

Stir in vodka and cook 15 minutes more.

Bring a large pot of lightly salted water to a boil. Add pasta and cook for 8 to 10 minutes or until al dente; drain.

Stir sausage then 1/2 & 1/2 and then spinach into sauce and cook 10 minutes more.

Toss with hot pasta
