1 cup Open Pit BBQ Sauce
1 onion, chopped
2 Tbls pickle relish
2 Tbls Worcestshire
1 Tbls Brown Sugar
2 Tbls Yellow mustard
1/2 tsp garlic salt

Mix and heat all ingredients in small sauce pain.

***WARNING***]
Do not leave this sauce in the pan for any extended length of time as it will self-destruct and you will have a permanent "pot of BBQ sauce for hot dogs!"

This sauce will permanently flavor any pot you cook it in if left in too long...
For the Park Picnic, Mart would bring the hot dogs in the sauce and would serve them that way.
I usually have them separate.
I like to add celery salt to the sandwich at the end.

If you refrigerate the sauce after cooking, it thickens quite a bit and is perhaps a bit less sloppy.

(Does anyone else remember playing tag on the benches that the city dropped off for the picnic? I remember there being quite a few tables and you could set up fairly big tracks. The only rule was you couldn’t touch the grass.)
