1 c butter, soft
2 c sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp vanilla
5c flour
1½ tsp baking powder
1 tsp baking soda
½ tsp salt
¼ cup 2% milk

Directions:
Directions:
Cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs and vanilla. Combine dry ingredients and add to butter sugar mixture, alternating with milk. Pat into two discs and refrigerate for 15-30 minutes. Roll out to ⅛" thickness, cut using biscuit cutter, glass jar, cookie cutter, or whatever you want. Bake 10 minutes. Cool. Decorate as desired.

Alt: Rather than refrigerating disks then rolling them out, you can roll the dough into a tubular shape and refrigerate well, then simply slice off thin "cookie" slices for baking.
