1/2 cup butter or margarine
1 cup firmly packed brown sugar
3 to 4 tablespoons milk
3 cups sifted powdered sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 teaspoon Maple syrup (optional)

Directions:
Directions:
Melt butter in a medium saucepan. Add brown sugar and cook 1 minute over low heat. Stir in remaining ingredients; beat until smooth, adding more milk if necessary for proper spreading consistency. Frosting will be thin.
Enough for 1 2-layer cake or 1 recipe of cinnamon rolls.
