1/2 pound chopped candied cherries (we like to mix both green and red cherries for the color)
1/2 pound chopped candied pineapple
1 pound chopped pecans
1 t soda
1 t salt
1 T cinnamon
2 1//2 cups flour
1 1/2 cups sugar
1 cup butter
2 eggs

Directions:
Directions:
Mix 1/2 cup flour with the chopped candied fruit.  This will help keep the pieces from sticking to one another.

Cream 1 cup butter, add 1 1/2 cups sugar. Then add 2 eggs. Next add the remaining dry ingredients, followed by the fruit and pecans.

Drop onto ungreased cookie sheets and bake at 350 degrees for 10-15 minutes.

Pat modified her recipe to exclude fruitcake "fruits" that she did not like. Thus, only cherries and pineapple are used here. However, the recipe will work with mixed fruitcake fruits.
