Pecan French Toast Recipe

4 eggs
2/3 c. orange juice
1/3 c. milk
1/4 c. sugar
1/4 t nutmeg
1/4 t vanilla
1/2 loaf Italian bread, cut in 1" slices
1/3 c. butter, melted
1/2 c. pecan pieces
2 T. orange peel

Directions:
Directions:
Use wire whisk and beat eggs, orange juice, milk, sugar, nutmeg and vanilla until combined. Place bread with edges touching in a single layer in a large flat dish. Pour mixture over bread, cover and refrigerate overnight, turning once. When ready to cook, preheat oven to 400º. Pour melted butter on a jellyroll pan spreading evenly. Arrange soaked bread slices in a single layer on pan and sprinkle with orange peel and pecans. Bake until golden, about
25 minutes. Check during the last 10 minutes to avoid burning. Serve with maple syrup, butter and fruit.
