"A man who was fond of wine was offered some grapes at dessert after dinner. "Much obliged," said he, pushing the plate aside; "I am not accustomed to take my wine in pills."--Jean Antheleme Brillat-Savarin, The Physiology of Taste

Personal Notes:
This is a recipe that my Great-Grandma Florence Garn (Grammy) would make and take to school at Fielding Elementary for my Grandma Dayle's birthday. Grandma Dayle's birthday is April 8th and she said that in the spring time her classmates would always ask, "Is it your birthday yet? or When is your birthday?" because they loved to get the doughnuts that Grammy would bring.

This recipe is dated 1930
