1/2 c. peanut butter
1/3 c. shortening
1½ c. packed brown sugar
2 eggs
1 t. vanilla extract
1½ c. flour
1½ t. baking powder
1/2 t. salt
1/4 c. milk

FROSTING:
2/3 c. creamy peanut butter
1/2 c. shortening
4 c. confectioners' sugar
1/3 to 1/2 c. milk

TOPPING (Optional):
1/4 c. semisweet chocolate chips
1 t. shortening

Directions:
Directions:
In a mixing bowl, cream peanut butter, shortening an brown sugar. Beat in eggs and vanilla. Combine the flour, baking powder and salt; gradually add to creamed mixture. Add milk; mix well. Transfer to a greased 15 x 10 x 1 baking pan. Bake at 350º for 16-20 minutes or until a toothpick inserted near the center comes out clean. Cool.

For frosting, in a mixing bowl, cream peanut butter, shortening and confectioners' sugar. Gradually beat in enough milk to achieve spreading consistency. Frost bars. Melt chocolate chips and shortening; stir until smooth. Drizzle over frosting. Refrigerate.
