1 cup flour
1 tsp salt
1 tsp baking powder
½ tsp baking soda
2 tbsp sugar
1 cup buttermilk
2 tbsp butter, melted

Sift together dry ingredients. Beat egg slightly; add milk and melted butter. Pour into dry ingredients, stir with a few swift strokes until just blended. Ignore the lumps. Drop by spoonfuls onto slightly greased griddle. Turn pancakes as browned.
