8 ounces dried apples
4 cups water
1 teaspoon lemon juice
1 teaspoon cinnamon
½ teaspoon nutmeg
¾ cup sugar

Directions:
Directions:
Soak apples in water overnight. boil in water until very tender. Drain and reserve liquid. Mash apples with potato masher or put through food grinder.
Add remaining ingredients. Add cooking liquid until applesauce of desired consistency. Stir cook and store in refrigerator. Serve as a condiment with meat.
