Whole chicken – cover with water and cook until done. Save broth
Cool chicken and remove meat from bones and set aside.

Make Grammie's recipe for home made noodles found in the pasta section in this book.

On stove in large soup pot:
1. Melt butter and add chopped onions and celery to saute'
2. Stir in ¼ cup flour to thicken.
3. Add 2 cups chicken broth slowly. (the broth you saved)
4. Add chopped carrots and chicken bouillon cubes to taste
5. Add home made noodles, cover and on medium heat cook noodles about 15 minutes until done
6. Add chicken chunks and simmer.
4. Add salt and pepper to taste.
Note: If this needs to be thicker, make a paste of flour and water and slowly stir into broth until the desired consistency.

Serve over mashed potatoes.

This was always my very very favorite of mom's recipes! My mouth is just watering thinking of it, and makes me wish mom was here to cook it for me!!!
