1 cup all-purpose flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp sugar
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 cup butter
1/3 cup buttermilk

Directions:
Directions:
Combine first 5 ingredients and mix well. Cut in butter with a pastry blender until mixture resembles coarse meal.

Add buttermilk, stirring until dry ingredients are moistened. Turn dough out onto a lightly floured surface. Knead lightly 8 to 10 times.

Roll dough to 1/4-inch thickness; cut with 2-inch biscuit cutter. Place biscuits on an engrossed baking sheet. Bake at 425º for 10 minutes or until golden brown. Yields 1 dozen.
