1 cup milk
1/4 cup shortening
2 teaspoons salt
1/2 package dry yeast
1/4 teaspoon baking soda
3/4 teaspoon baking powder
1 egg
2 3/4 cups all purpose flour

Directions:
Directions:
Mix milk, shortening, sugar and salt in a saucepan and scald.
Set aside to cool to lukewarm temperature. Then ad yeast when mixture has cooled. Mix soda, baking powder, egg and part of flour. Add milk mixture to yeast mixture. Gradually knead in rest of flour only to make light, not sticky dough. Let set for 1 hour. Put in refrigerator. Use as needed. Let rise before baking, then pinch out into little balls. Place on greased pan and bake at 425 degrees for 15 to 18 minutes.
