1/3 c. Butter
1/4 c. Sugar
1/2 t. Salt
1 c. Scalded Milk
1/3 Yeast Cake or 3/4 t. Dry Yeast
1/4 c. Lukewarm Milk
1 Egg, beaten
1/2 c. Raisins
Flour

Crumb mixture:
1/3 c. Sugar
3 T. Melted Butter
1 t. Vanilla
3 T. Flour

Directions:
Directions:
Add butter , sugar and salt to scalded milk. Set aside. Dissolve yeast in lukewarm milk. When butter mixture is cool to lukewarm add yeast mixture, beaten egg, raisins and enough flour to make a stiff dough. Beat and cover. Let rise overnight. In the morning, pour into a buttered 13x9 inch pan, spread 1/2 inch thick and let rise. While rising, mix together all crumb ingredients except the flour until the sugar is partially melted and then add the flour. Brush the bread with beaten egg and cover with the crumb mixture. Bake in a moderate oven (350F), cut into squares and serve
