Ingredients:
2 c. Scalded Milk
1 and 1/2 Yeast Cakes or 1 T. Dry Yeast
3 1/2 c. Flour
1/2 c. Butter
1/2 c. Lard
1/2 c. Sugar
1 Egg
1 t. Salt
1/2 t. Cinnamon

Directions:
Directions:
Scald milk and cool to lukewarm. Add yeast and stir to dissolve. Add flour and beat well. Cover and let rise for 1 1/2 hours. Add butter, lard, sugar, egg, salt and cinnamon and enough extra flour to make it a kneadable dough. Knead well and cover, let rise for 6 hours. Place in refrigerator or another cold place to keep it from rising overnight. In the morning, put on floured bread board and roll into a long, rectangular piece 1/4 inch thick. Brush with melted butter and fold from ends towards the canter making 3 layers. Cut off pieces 3/4 of an inch wide and let rise until light. Take each piece separately and twist from ends in opposite directions then shape into a coil. Put in buttered pans, cover, and let rise for 20-25 minutes in a moderate oven (350F). Cool slightly and brush with a confectioners sugar glaze.
