German Goulash Recipe

2 lbs stewing pork or beef cut into 1/4" cubes
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp pepper
2 TBL butter
3 onions, diced
1/2 C sweet hungarian paprika
2 cloves garlic
1 cup water
1/2 cup wine
1 TBL flour
red pepper flakes to taste

Directions:
Directions:
Sprinkle meat with salt and pepper and coat with flour. Sprinkle remaining flour into the pan with the meat. Brown pork/beef in hot pan with butter on all sides. Add diced onion and cook slowly until soft and golden. Sprinkle with paprika and saute 3 or 4 minutes. Add garlic and water, cover and simmer slowly 1 hour. Add the wine and red pepper flakes. Simmer for an additional 15 minutes. Serve over Spatzle.
