1 lb. of stew beef pieces or sirloin steak cut into pieces
4 cups beef stock
4 to 6 medium potatoes, chopped
1 lb. of carrots, chopped
1 lg. onion, chopped
1 stick of butter
1 cup of flour
Salt, pepper, dill weed, parsley, basil, garlic, turmeric, cumin, and celery seed to taste

Directions:
Directions:
In a large sauce pan, cook beef in beef stock until tender.
Add potatoes, carrots, spices, and onion. Bring to a boil.
Reduce heat to simmer until potatoes are soft.
In a small sauce pan, melt butter over a low heat. Add flour to butter to make a rue.
Add rue to thicken stew.
Add spices to taste.
