1/2 t. salt
1 t. baking powder
1 3/4 c. flour
1/2 c. butter, softened
1 c. sugar
1 egg OR 2 yolks (if using yolks, can use whites to brush on dough)
1 T. milk
1/2 t. vanilla extract

Cinnamon/sugar mixture

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 400ºF.

Mix flour, salt and baking powder; set aside. Combine remaining ingredients. Add dry ingredients and mix well, until dough holds together. Roll into ball, cover with wax paper and chill at least one hour (can be frozen).

Roll on floured surface to 1/8-1/4". Brush with egg whites and sprinkle with cinnamon/sugar mixture. Cut out desired shapes. Decorate with colored sugar crystals, etc. if desired.

Bake 6 minutes or until slightly golden. Remove to cooling rack immediately.
