4 lbs. pickling cucumbers, sliced
2 cups water
2 cups white distilled vinegar
½ cup sugar
¼ cup pickling salt
1.5 T. pickling spice
3 heads fresh dill
3 cloves of garlic

Directions:

Prep canning jars as you normally would

Place cucumbers in a large pot and cover with ice for 2 hours, then drain

Place the water, vinegar, sugar, pickling salt and pickling spice in saucepan; bring to a boil and simmer for 15 minutes

Place the cucumbers in canning jars and fill to within ½ inch from the top

Add 1 dill head and 1 clove of garlic to each jar

Pour hot pickling liquid into jars to within ¼ inch of the top

Wipe the rims and place the tops on

Process in canner for 5 minutes

Remove and let cool overnight; check to make sure they are sealed
