2½ cups flour
1 t. baking powder
¼ t. salt
1 cup (2 sticks) butter at room temperature
1 package cream cheese softened
2½ cups sugar
5 eggs, separated
1 T. vanilla extract
½ t. butter extract

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350º

Grease and flour 2 loaf pans

Beat egg whites until frothy and add ½ cup sugar

Continue beating until stiff peaks form, set aside

Stir together flour, baking powder and salt

Cream butter and cream cheese until light and smooth
Gradually add the remaining sugar

Add egg yolks, vanilla and butter extracts

Add dry ingredients slowly

Fold in ⅓ of the egg white mixture into batter to lighten it
Fold in remaining egg whites

Pour into two loaf pans and bake for 55-60 minutes
