1½ c brown sugar
½ c. shortening
2 eggs
2 c. sifted flour
1 tsp. soda
½ tsp. baking powder
½ tsp. salt
½ c. flaked coconut
½ c. chopped nuts
1 lb. orange slice candy, diced and mixed with ½ c. flour

Directions:
Directions:
Cream sugar and shortening until light and fluffy. Beat in eggs. Sift flour, soda, baking powder and salt and blend into creamed mixture. Fold in candy, coconut, and nuts mixing well. Roll into balls, about 1 inch in diameter. Place on greased baking sheets and press down with the tines of a dinner fork. Bake at 325º for about 12 minutes or until lightly browned.
