Pastry:
1 1/2 c. whole wheat flour
1 1/2 c. white flour
1/2 t. salt
1/2 c. butter
1 egg yolk (save egg white)
3/4 c. milk

Apple filling:
5 c. thinly sliced tart apples
2 T. flour
1/2 c. sugar
1 t. cinnamon
2 T. melted butter

Directions:
Directions:
Mix flours and salt in large bowl. Cut in butter. Combine egg yolk and milk and add to mixture. Stir just until mixed. May need a little more milk. Divide dough in half. Roll out into 15 x 10 in. rectangle. Place in greased pan. Mix apple filling and spread on dough. Roll out the other rectangle and place on top of apple filling. Brush with egg white and bake at 375º for 20 minutes. Serve warm. Can sprinkle with powdered sugar if desired.
