Ingredients:
4 eggs
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1/4 tsp. salt
2 1/2 cups milk
Nutmeg

Directions:
Directions:
Heat oven to 450º. Prepare pie crust (flute edge high and do not prick) and bake for 5 min. Cool to room temperature.

In mixing bowl, beat eggs slightly. Stir in sugar, vanilla and salt. Gradually stir in milk; mix well. Place pie shell on oven rack; pour filling into partially baked crust. Sprinkle with nutmeg.

Heat oven to 350º. To prevent over browning of crust, cover edge with foil or use pie crust ring. Bake for 30 minutes, remove foil, bake additional 30 - 35 minutes or until knife inserted into custard comes out clean.

Note: Growing up we always had fresh eggs and milk. This was one of moms go to recipes, especially in the winter months.
