1 pound ground beef/2 pounds
1 pound ground sausage/2 pounds
1 yellow onion, diced/2 onions
4 to 5 cloves, minced/8 to 10 cloves
1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes/3/4 tsp.
1 tablespoon dried basil/1-1/2 tbsp.
1 teaspoon dried parsley/1-1/2 tsp.
1 teaspoon dried oregano/1-1/2 tsp.
1 teaspoon salt/1-1/2 tsp.
1/2 teaspoon black pepper/3/4 tsp.
1 whole bay leaf/2 leaves
1-1/2 teaspoons granulated sugar/2-1/4 tsp.
1 24 ounce jar Prego Traditional Italian Spaghetti Sauce/2- 24 oz. jars
8 to 10 cups chicken broth/8 cups (2 cartons)
1 14 ounce can crushed tomatoes/2-14 oz. cans
2 tablespoons tomato paste/3 tbsp.
2 teaspoons balsamic vinegar/3 tsp.
1/2 cup heavy cream/3/4 cup
10 uncooked lasagna noodles/13 to 15 noodles

Optional Garnishes:
Avocados, diced
Mozzarella cheese, shredded

Directions:
Directions:
In a Dutch Oven, sauté ground beef, ground sausage and onion - cook over medium until meat is browned and onions are soft. Add garlic and red pepper flakes - sauté for 30 additional seconds. Drain excess fat.

Add Prego sauce, 6 cups chicken broth, crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, balsamic vinegar, sugar, spices and lasagna noodles. Bring to a boil then reduce to simmer. Cook, stirring occasionally until noodles are tender - 20 to 30 minutes.

Discard bay leaf. Stir in heavy cream and 2 to 4 cups more of chicken broth until desired consistency. Garnish with cheese and avocado.

Addi's friend, Hannah, made this for their Friendsgiving in the Hamptons, 2017. It was soooo delicious that Addi got the recipe and we made it during the week before Christmas, 2017 - a new family favorite!!!
