1 cup raisins
1 cup Shortening
3/4 cup granulated sugar
3/4 cup packed brown sugar
2 eggs
2 cup quick cooking rolled oats
1 cup whole wheat flour
1 t baking soda
1 t salt
1/2 t cinnamon
1/2 t nutmeg
1/2 cup chopped walnuts

Directions:
In a small saucepan cover raisins with water. Bring to a boiling remove from heat. Cover and let stand 5 minutes drain. Put through fine blade of food grinder; set aside.
Food Processor method: Place dry ingredients in a bowl of the processor; add well drained raisins and pulse Off/On a couple of times to chop raisins. Add the walnuts and pulse Off/On a few more times. In a mixer bowl, cream shortening and sugars till light and fluffy. Beat in eggs. Stir together the dry ingredients and add to the creamed mixture. Stir in the oats, walnuts and ground raisins. Drop by teaspoonful's onto greased cookie sheets. Bake at 350* for 10-12 mins. Cool on cookie sheets for 1-2 minutes before removing to wire racks.
